Overview
Banned class (禁止級, kinshi kyū) refers to Legendary Pokémon whose use is restricted (banned) at battle facilities and official tournaments due to its high performance, including its status among Pokémon.
The term was originally called banned legendary class (禁止級伝説, kinshi kyū densetsu, lit. "banned class legendary"), but it is now shorten. Note, however, that this is a common name in the eyes of Pokémon players, and in the game it is equivalent to a quasi-legendary (it is only the difference between a central or supporting role in the work).
Officially, they are called Special Pokémon (特別なポケモン, Tokubetsu na Pokemon). Since Mythical Pokémon may also be included, they are called Special Legendary Pokémon (特別な伝説のポケモン, Tokubetsu na Densetsu no Pokemon) to further distinguish them.
